Chicago Tribune review for “Birth Death Breath” at Elmhurst Art Museum
edit“BLOW UP: Inflatable Contemporary Art”: Air fills lungs, the space between us, bouncy castles, balloons, blimps — and art. Momoyo Torimitsu’s giant pink bunnies, Guy Overfelt’s puffy muscle car and sculptures by a half-dozen others use nylon, electric fans and the ether in uncanny explorations of contemporary existence. Not to be missed, except by the faithful, is the premiere of Jeanne Dunning and Diane Christiansen’s “Birth Death Breath,” an opera performed by inflatable Christmas lawn ornaments.
